dc.description.abstractIn this study, microfluidic sensor structure has been proposed for wastewater treatment applications. Resonator part of the proposed sensor consist of double split ring resonator (DSSR) integrated transmission lines to observe transmission coefficient at resonance frequency. The wastewater samples are obtained at different phases in a treatment process such as ventilation, back return and output. The dielectric characteristics of these samples are measured via a dielectric probe connecting with a vector network analyzer. After that the samples are placed in the capacitive parts of the DSSR and the transmission coefficient are observed in resonance frequencies. They are obtained at 1.758 GHz, 1.766 GHz and 1.854 GHz for output, back return and ventilation process, respectively. These results are related with the chemical properties of samples such as amount of suspended solid, colloid and/or organic/inorganic matter. Hence the sensor is a candidate for wastewater treatment applications. © 2019 Author(s).en_US
